Curls and a crown!

I ordered this crown for Claire for her b-day! She loves it!!!!


She went to MDO today since we are leaving town tomorrow and was in a crazy mood when I picked her up. She was all over the place! It was pretty funny! And, I don't know what the deal was, but her curls were out! I have seen a few, but today they were all over the place!

We will be in Texas for the next 2 weeks!!!! I can't wait! We hope to see some friends and get lots of great family time in. Claire is really taking some steps and I think she will be walking soon.....very soon! She is so fearless!!!!!!! A little scary!

Parent's Day Out

Claire started Parent's Day Out last week.......I was so stressed to get out the door that I forgot to take some pictures. So, I made up for it yesterday. Here she is eating a late breakfast (she slept until 8am that morning!!!!!) before "school" ;)

She did really well. This week she did not sleep or eat as much as the previous week. I think she has a hard time when there is so much going on. Since she was not 1 by Sept. 1st, she is still in the infant room. I thought that might not work out so well, but she loves it. She has the run of the room and being the oldest the teachers love that she is so independent. I have been really pleased so far with everything at this preschool. It is so hard coming from out of town trying to find one when you don't really know the area......I think we made a good choice.

Baby it's cold outside!

This wonderful thing has happened here in Kansas.....some of you may call it Fall...some may call it Autumn...we call it GREAT!!! The weather is so super nice here!!!! We slept with the windows open last night. The sun is out and it is about 53 in the morning and 72-75 in the afternoon. So nice! Especially when I remember being pregnant last summer at about this time in Dallas I think we were on day 17 of a stretch of temperatures above 100!!!!!! We went for a walk last night and it was a little chilly. I am totally overreacting with the hat and blanket here for Claire, but I could not resist this little kitty hat!!!!

Daddy was home a little early so we enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood before dinner! We will enjoy this cool weather because we are headed to Texas next week, and I know we will not see the same weather there!!!!

3 wonderful things.......

We have had so much good news this week!!!! Our friend Sara Weaver got engaged....here she is with Claire in June.

Another friend, Sarah T., got engaged too!!!! Here she is with Claire in May!!!! She was one of our first visitors ;)

And, Shawna had her baby girl! Miss Madison arrived Friday night....she is a little thing at only 6lbs and 5 oz. Mama and baby are doing so well. Welcome to the world Madison!! You are one lucky lady! Shawna came to visit us on Claire's 1 week birthday! Above she is holding our week old baby! I bet she looks even better holding Madison!

Such good news that we had to share!!!!!! Way to go girls!

Play class at Gymboree!

Claire goes to "play class" every Thursday at Gymboree. She loves it!!!! They let the kids play all over this fun room. Then Miss Cheryl blows bubbles. This is a favorite! These are the BEST bubbles! They do not pop!!!! It is amazing! The kids can get them and Claire usually has several in her hair for the rest of class ;)

Then we put all the kids on top of the parachute and walk around.....she likes this part too!

Fun with Jack!

Since Strick is out of town, my sweet friend, Amy, invited Claire and I over for dinner and some play time. Amy's son, Jack, is about 4 months older than Claire and they play so nicely together!!! I took Jack to Gymboree today since they were having furniture delivered....getting two babies in and out of the car is a lot of work!!!!! Makes me think of those of you with twins (Jenny) and those of you that are having twins (Kara)......good luck with that!!!! Man, I don't know that I am woman enough to handle it!!!! Getting both kids fed tonight and in and out of the tub.........anyway, it is only 8pm and I am already locked up and thinking about bed!!!!

Bath time was so funny! Jack loves to say "baby"!!!! He kept pointing to Claire and saying "baby"! Too cute :)

I'll take that.....we are working on sharing......one reason they play so well together...Jack could not care less if Claire steals his toys!!! Great relationship!

Shake it girl!

I have been wanting to upload this for a long time. Try to tune out all the loud ladies in the background! This was from when we were at the beach in July! She had just fallen in the sand and was not letting us clean her off....too busy! My cousin, Amy, had this song on her phone and Claire loved it!!!! Claire is shaking it!!!!

So Sorry.....

Well, I was doing so well for so long........I knew it would come to an end here!!! Sorry we have been out of touch. Things have been a little nuts here. Bitzy got sprayed by a dang skunk in our backyard (so did the neighbor's dog!!!!), Miss C is cutting 2 teeth (brutal), she decided to give up morning nap for about a week, and I just lost had a hard time getting to the computer to post! Anyway, I promise not to let it happen again any time soon....I hope!

Claire has just learned to love her swing! So glad! If you could zoom in you would see two teeth pushing their way out on the top......very slowly!!!!!! Her little gums are so swollen!!!! Poor baby!

She starts Mother's Day Out on Wednesday!!!! Please pray for me! I am so ready to have a day to myself, but it will be hard to leave her! My friend, Amy, and I are going to lunch and to have a pedicure! What a wonderful day off!!! Especially since Strick is traveling Wed-Sat!!!!

On another note....Jacob Brinkley LaRovere was born today at 2:58pm weighing 7lbs and 14oz!!!! His mom, Jackie (Shinn) LaRovere, was my roommate when we first moved to Dallas and actually introduced me and Strick....she read scripture at our wedding. Apparently, Jackie did an awesome job and got baby Jacob here quickly!!! Way to go!! Claire can't wait to meet her new friend!!!
